The Deliverance Church International-Othaya Kenya, where Loxley and Paulette visited in 2012 for the Joint Interdenominational Conference, has been growing in vibrancy and in God’s grace and blessings. God used that Conference to edify the Church and the Pastors’ Fellowship.
Since that first visit a number of new programs have been initiated, for example a Mentorship program for boys and girls. It’s purpose is to train, equip, and develop teenagers using sound biblical principles. As a result, more souls, especially young ones, are being won into the Kingdom. There has also been an annual prayer meeting started for the Police officers of the Nyeri South District which has lead to invitations from them to partner in some of their programs and projects.
One of the most remarkable things that took place recently was a revival for prayer and intercession. There have been past attempts to bring the Ministers together for prayer, but only a handful would attend. However, the Lord led the Chairman of the Pastor’s Fellowship to restart the monthly prayer meetings irrespective of the number of attendees. As a result attendance has increased significantly. They have four administrative Wards with satellite Pastors Fellowships in Othaya. The monthly Ministers prayer meetings are rotating the four wards.
Everything they have done is in accordance with the great commission as stipulated in Matthew 28:19-20.
Last year their annual Interdenominational Conference was held in April, and they were blessed to be able to hold a one day conference with International Evangelist, Dr David Newberry in May. They also had satellite meetings in August where they had a two-day seminar followed by a four-day evangelistic crusade.
They had a Ministers/Leaders Conference where we are trusting God to bring together about 400 Church leaders in August as well.
Othaya Pastors are in collaboration with a Church in Colorado who are running a Bible School. The Bible School is of great help to the Ministers who have never had the chance of attending a Bible College.
God has done amazing work, not only in growing the Church and their relationships with their community but also in giving them a time of peace and healing in their country.
